Cora Preibis’ Artwork on Show at Essex Library Through February

This still life by Cora Priebis is the signature work of the artist’s show at Essex Library.

ESSEX — Cora Preibis has been drawing and painting since she was a child. Although art was not her primary field of study, she has always been interested in art.  She started painting more consistently after her retirement from Middlesex Community College, where she was the Coordinator of the Tutoring Center and also an adjunct faculty member.

She has always been fascinated with the watercolor medium, the flow of the paint, the spontaneous nature of watercolor, as well as the delicacy which can be achieved.  Cora enjoys painting florals, landscape, and still life paintings.  She has studied with a number of wonderful artists over the years.

Her professional affiliations are with the Essex Art Association, Clinton Art Association and Middletown Art Guild, from which she has received a number of awards.  She is also an elected member of the Connecticut Watercolor Society.  She has also participated in many juried shows throughout Connecticut.

Her work can be viewed at the Essex Library during its regular hours of operation throughout the month of February 2018.
